Customer Rating: Summary: FABTASTIC!!! Comment: I did not see the first one and have no intenions on seeing the first one. This movie is GREAT from beginning to end! I LOVE Pierce and Rene in this movie together, they have great chemistry! A must see....buy it!!!
Customer Rating: Summary: False advertisement Comment: I ordered the Thomas Crown Affair with Pierce Brosnan and I got the old 1968 version in a New DVD case for The Thomas Crown Affair with Pierce Brosnan and Renee Russo face on it.. I was under the impression I was getting the new version due to the exterior of the DVD...!!!! Do not buy!!!! I cant find a number to complain or get a replacement.. so I'm venting here.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great twist on art theft storyline... Comment: No need to compare this with the first film with Steve McQueen- because its a totally different storyline. The world of art theft investigation is intriguing to many people and this is a completely enjoyable film. Even though one wonders if some aspects in the story would really be possible it doesn't matter. Faye Dunaway makes a very short appearance which is a nice nod to the original, but this version is much slicker, more modern, quite entertaining. A great date movie, or late night endulgence!
Customer Rating: Summary: I'll Take McQueen Comment: The remake is okay, but I can't imagine saying it is better than the original, with the one and only Steve McQueen.
I love Ms Russo, probably more than Dunaway, but you really can't compare Brosnan to McQueen.
Plus, the remake just tried too hard.
4 stars for the original; 3 for the remake.
Customer Rating: Summary: Should have never been made Comment: What a waste of a story line! This bomb only needs to be watched to see how the original got it right!

Thrill-seeking billionaire Thomas Crown (Brosnan) loves nothing more than courting disasterand winning! So when his world becomes too stiflingly safe, he pulls off his boldest stunt ever: stealing a priceless paintingin broad daylightfrom one of Manhattan's most heavily guarded museums. But his post-heist excitement soon pales beside an even greater challenge: Catherine Banning (Russo). A beautiful insurance investigator hired to retrieve the artwork, Catherine's every bit as intelligent, cunning and hungry for adventure as he is. And just when Thomas realizes he's finally met his match, she skillfully leads him into a daring game of cat and mouse that's more intoxicating and dangerous than anything either of them has ever experienced before!
